I grew up eating Chinese food every day, so it’s funny that I cook mostly non-Asian food now for my family. It’s not that I dislike Asian food (we still go out to eat it), but I prefer not having to spend an hour slicing and dicing and stir frying when I can stick something in the oven and and walk away. :)
When I’m in the mood for some Asian flavors, however, I use this recipe for Five-Spice Chicken. This dish can be pan-fried, grilled, or baked (my favorite method). You should be able to find five spice powder at your local grocery store (I found mine at Safeway). Feel free to double (or triple) the recipe so there’s more than enough of this yummy dish to go around.
